The cover of this week’s New Yorker magazine depicts Obama in one-piece Muslim garb and headdress fist-bumping his booted, Afro-wearing wife Michelle in camo clothes with an AK-47 and ammo-belt slung over her shoulder beneath a portrait of Osama bin-Laden while the American flag burns in the fireplace — in the presidential Oval Office.

While this was meant to be satire, the Liberal Left, which is most of the Democratic Party these days, isn’t laughing. Too many even among their own ranks are beginning to suspect the truth about their kinky-haired boy. He’s changed position so many times on all the issues, and is now positioning himself in the center and so far away from the Far Left where he started from, that he’s losing the support of the Left.

The more he does this the worse he looks to voters on both sides. As he should. I wonder if anyone will ever make a public issue of the fact that his own brother is an Islamic terrorist in Kenya? Surely the top-level Lefties know this, they’re all very well educated politically, so depicting him and his wife as Islamic jihadists must strike terror in their hearts. It’s just too close to home.

This is just the tip of the iceberg regarding that magazine cover. Methinks all Hell will be breaking loose over it before all is said and done.

Iran has claimed a test firing of 9 missiles including long-range (1250 miles) “Shahab” missiles capable of carrying a nuke to Israel although a “senior US defense official” said that only seven were launched on Wednesday, not nine as claimed. This is very likely true as Iran has a consistent history of exaggerating the facts for the sole purpose of taunting their enemies. They’ve made it very clear that they intend to wipe Israel off the map, have repeatedly said so, have developed the missiles capable of delivering the death blows and are steadily progressing toward building nuclear weapons for the missiles to carry.

So will Israel wait until the Iranians actually detonate nukes in Israel, or will they attact pre-emptively? One of the two will happen.

The financiers of our planet seem to expect the latter, as crude-oil futures Friday soared more than $5 to a new all-time high above $147 a barrel, rallying on speculation that Israel may be nearer to launching an attack on Iran and on worries that supplies in Nigeria and Brazil may be disrupted.

Most of the current upward pressure is about Iran, but there’s concern about more violence likely in Nigeria from the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, “MEND”, and an oil workers strike looming in Brazil. While Iran is the worlds 4th largest producer of oil, that’s not as much as it sounds, since that’s only 5% of the total global production, but it’s enough to drive changes in the market.

Before the price of oil skyrocketed, war with Iran was financially unthinkable because of the degree of price increase that would result. Now, however, the loss of Irans oil is less important in terms of price increases. The previous spectre of oil at $150 or $200 a barrel as a result of such a war has already faded into the light of the reality of those prices now, and it’s only been this economic fear that’s prevented war.

Iran wants this war, to bring about “the return of the hidden Imam”, a crackpot religious belief that supposedly ends with the entire world being forcibly converted to Islam, and they will have it one way or another. We know it, too, and all these efforts at diplomacy have only allowed Iran to progress further toward their goal.

All Mexican foods. I said awhile ago that this is caused by some farm in Mexico using untreated sewage waste water to water their crops. I still say so and the evidence in favor is mounting. How else do you get salmonella bacteria INSIDE the produce unless it’s sucked up by the roots! We don’t run farms like stupid, uneducated, dirty peons in this country. Ahh, Mexico, land of revolutions, drug wars, corruption, poor education, poverty, crime and squalor. What a fine neighbor you are.

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Robert Gates has undone the done deal with Airbus of the European Union to build our Air Force refueling tankers instead of Boeing, based in Washington state. “The Pentagon announced on Wednesday that it would reopen bidding on a $35 billion contract for midair refueling tankers, allowing Boeing to continue its effort to wrest the business from a partnership of Northrop Grumman and the European parent of its rival Airbus.”

Airbus was handed this as an incentive for the E.U. and particularly France to back us politically in the Middle East. Some back-door deal with them may have fallen through. Another possibility is the rise in the Euro over the dollar recently. By keeping up to a potential $100 billion contract total here in the U.S. and boosting the economy of Wash. state, as well as creating 9000 new jobs there and nationally, the incentive to keep the contract at home may have simply become too strong.

Boeing is the best choice anyway. They make a better airplane and they do it for less money, and this means more Americans will have more food on the table. Hopefully American-grown food.

I don’t want to spoil anyones dinner, but have you noticed that Bush’s eyes are so close together that he could be mistaken for a Cyclops? Just mentioning in passing.

Passing bills, for instance. Like this one: the Senate approved and sent to the White House a bill Wednesday to overhaul the bitterly disputed rules on secret government eavesdropping and to shield telecommunications companies from lawsuits complaining they helped the U.S. spy on Americans.

The relatively one-sided vote, 69-28, came only after a lengthy and heated debate that pitted privacy and civil liberties concerns against the desire to prevent terrorist attacks, and the ACLU, which is party to some of the lawsuits that will now be dismissed, said the bill was “a blatant assault upon civil liberties and the right to privacy.” For that reason alone, this must be a good bill and I’m all for it.

Anything the ACLU is against, is good for America. The ACLU was originally a Communist organization, and is now currently being run by Muslims with an Islamist agenda. Every time I hear their name I kinda lose my apetite.

A last thought. If you like your bacon lean, get it from a well-excercised Texas Racing Pig by buying it from the hog farm that has given us American Pig Races! This highly successful enterprise was started thanks to a Muslim, true fact, who bought the farm next to a Texas hog farmer and then told the farmer he had to move because his pigs offended Islam. In typical polite Texan response, the hog farmer set up a race track on their mutual property line and began what is now a major event, with people coming from all over Texas to see the pigs run their little tails off. The Muslim? I really don’t know and who the Hell cares?

The reefs discussed in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration report serve as breeding grounds for many of the world’s seafood species and act as indicators of overall ocean health.

“They are a major indicator of something that could go wrong with the environment,” said Timothy Keeney, NOAA’s deputy assistant secretary for oceans and atmosphere.

Keeney said 25 percent of all marine species need coral reefs to live and grow, while 40 percent of the fish caught commercially use reefs to breed and since NOAA’s last report in 2005, the Caribbean region has lost at least 50 percent of its corals, largely because sea temperatures have risen.

The 569-page report took 18 months to complete with input from 270 federal, state and university scientists. It documented 15 ecosystems in U.S. states and territories, including the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Florida, Hawaii, American Samoa and Guam. The report found that coral bleaching caused largely by rising sea temperatures is a major factor. Carbon dioxide released by burning fossil fuels is absorbed by the oceans, making the waters more acidic and corrosive on corals. Land-based pollution, such as sewage, beach erosion, coastal development and overfishing also are to blame.

Keeney sees corals as “a sentinel species of the planet,” and calls them “the rain forests of the sea.” Beyond their importance as breeding grounds for fish, reefs could hold cures for diseases.” “There’s no question that … man-made actions are the major cause for these losses and stresses on the reefs,” Keeney said.

Well, I guess we better start building more fish farms and getting used to eating Chinese-raised tilapia, that trash fish that they’re selling us now that’s loaded with their sewage pollutants and industrial waste. Yum!

The warming of the oceans may still prove to be at least partly a cyclical thing our old planet does every so often, but I personally wouldn’t be so arrogant as to argue the point with 270 scientists. When you can get two of them to agree on anything, it’s a miracle. So when 270 of them agree, I think they’re probably right, don’t you?

Now here’s the bottom line. No one is going to do diddly squat to fix this. We are still going to dump our sewage and garbage and other pollutants in the ocean. We are still going to continue burning fossil fuels at an ever increasing rate. We are going to wipe out our coral reefs and therefor 25% of our ocean fish and 40% of what we eat from the ocean, and that’s for starters. Those fish are also food for other fish that we also eat, so those other fish will die off too, and we are going to find ourselves eating some pretty strange stuff to fill our bellies. Lots of soy products, chemically manufactured pseudo-foods, meats cloned in vats by the ton, the same basic way skin is grown from samples now for medical repairs. Watch our brave new world unfold as you sit down to a tasty treat of Genuine ersatz imitation imitation crab salad because all the codfish that they made the imitation crab from are extinct along with all the crabs.

Imagine the trade wars erupting between Japan and Russia and other nations fishing fleets as they literally fight over the dwindling supply of fish. The Japs will go back to wiping out all the whales and find their ships being sunk by the Russians who are doing the same thing.

Personally, I’m praying for either a global plague or the immediate onset of another Ice Age.

Israeli officials believe the two soldiers are dead, but Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said he had not given Israel any indication of their fate. He called reports that they are dead “speculation … not based on anything tangible.”

Give us a break. The Israelis never get back live bodies, only sacks of bones bearing evidence of torture. It was the abduction of these two soldiers that sparked the war with the Hezbollah in Lebanon that brought a huge amount of destruction to that country. The plain truth is that Hezbollah was shocked with the ferocity of the Israeli response. While Hezbollah wasn’t defeated and Israel was called the loser by many in the International community, certainly by the Arab nations and by many at home as well, the fact remains that there has not been one single further abduction of any Israeli citizen or any further attack or incursion emanating from Lebanon since.

It’s this latter fact that you won’t read in the news anywhere, as it tends to make Israel start looking like the winner of that fracas, after all. In plain truth, no one was a winner. The Lebanese people suffered considerably, there were lost lives on both sides, the war was costly financially for Israel and devastating financially for Lebanon. The only way Israel could have “won” the war would have been to flatten most of the country as that’s about the only way to get rid of Hezbollah.

That terrorist organization, Syrian based and financed, is also supported by most of the muslim population of Lebanon, which has a mostly muslim population now that they’ve killed off most of the Christians. Realistically, the only way to get Hezbollah out of Lebanon is for the people to withdraw their support, and the only way for Israel to react to Hezbollah attacks is to do again what they did before and flatten a huge portion of their bases of operation with total disregard for the civilians in their midst. Those civilians are the ones making it possible for Hezbollah to operate.

Violence, power and fear are the only things Muslims respect, as Israel knows well and the rest of the world has come to learn.

The Texas Penal Code allows the use of deadly force if the “actor reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary.” Deadly force can also be used to protect property when “the other is fleeing immediately after committing burglary.”

Then, no doubt, you go get another weapon issued to you, most likely one that was taken away from the guy beside you, and shoot more rockets.

Being arrested by Hamas for being a member of Hamas or Islamic Jihad means that you are told to be more careful next time, and where the safest places to shoot rockets from are.

With this level of unconcerned attitude toward maintaining a cease-fire with Israel, is it any wonder that they always collapse within days or weeks? The only ones who actually observe it are the Israelis, who usually wait out repeated rocket attacks and armed incursions before finally resuming their air strikes and armed responses of their own.

If anyone had any doubts about who is the villain in the unending Palestinian fracas, you now have it from the mouth of Hama’s leader, himself. Does anyone really think that any Israeli citizen would not be fully prosecuted for shooting rockets into Palestine? This is a one-way street and has been from the start.

Have their guns taken away. Oh dear. What a terrible punishment. I hope that doesn’t make them cry.

Salmonella is a more lethal bacteria that forms in rotting food, most often chicken, fish and fish byproducts, and you can get horribly ill or die from ingesting it. Salmonella is what you would expect to find in untreated waste water. If you irrigate tomato plants with that water, the bacteria are absorbed up the roots, into the plant and end up in the fruit. MEXICO CITY, June 23 (Xinhua) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has continued its investigations into Mexican tomatoes to determine if a salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 500 people in the U.S. originated in Mexico, U.S. authorities said Monday.
The states of Sinaloa, Coahuila and Jalisco are still under suspicion.

My only hope is that all of those 500 people sickened by the food poisoning were Mexicans. Hey, it’s only fair.
