A Tribute To The Minutemen

The Minutemen are building a fence to separate the Hodges Ranch, near Bisbee, AZ from Mexico because the ranch straddles one of the hot points of the illegal Mexican invasion. The Israeli-type barrier is being constructed about 10 feet in from the outer edge of Richard Hodges land with a high-tech security fence fronting it on the border side.
When he was first approached by the Minutemen with an offer to build this very spendy fence at no cost to him, it seemed too good to be true. The fence is being constructed entirely from donations and as yet is incomplete, waiting for more money to come in from supporters. You can donate to this extremely worthy project here.
The fence will stop drug-trafficking vehicles racing across his ranch and the all-too-frequent cartel-law enforcement shootouts, as well as protect his livestock from predation by illegals.
“Why Continue to Build Fences? The Fences built by the Minuteman have been a driving force compelling the federal government to act, and the ranchers along the border in Arizona say it well, “The government wasn’t doing anything until the Minutemen showed up.” Minutemen must continue to keep the pressure on and make the federal government actually “BUILD IT”–talk is cheap, and virtual is not actual.”
“Why must the Minutemen Keep the Pressure on–aren’t the Feds building fence now?
The short answer is that the Feds are building it because the Minutemen are building it and the open borders lobby is hard at work against us.”
“It will cost about $400,000 to finish the Hodges Ranch span and install full security technology in the ground at $250 per foot of fence. We know it’s a lot of money. But we cannot secure America on the cheap. And this is vastly less expensive than the federal government costs for what little physical fencing they are actually getting into the ground.”
The Minutemen are alive and well in Texas, too, organizing events such as the “April 2008 FREE RAMOS border watch to cover El Paso through Sierra Blanca and other nearby locations. Operation Free Ramos will provide extra eyes and ears for the overloaded border patrol and serves as a reminder of the extreme lack of justice that Ramos and other border agents get in our pro open-border courts.”
All of the fence construction is being done by Minutemen volunteers. All of the money for these projects has been donated by Minutemen all over the country. The publicity from their efforts to protect our borders has forced the Feds to respond with efforts of their own. Put plainly, the Minutemen are making the Feds look just about as bad as they really are. There’s nothing like someone poking a stick in your eye to get you to move.
The Minutemen are true to their namesakes, who helped save our new nation from the British. They are working to save our nation from invaders once again. These people are heroes, every one, those who donate, those who give logistical support and those who are giving their time and labor, all free, to protect America from foreign invasion, to guard our sovereignty, support our Border Patrol in enforcing our laws and protect our nation, you and me.
Unarmed, they place their lives on the line out on the range, building fences and vehicle barriers, spotting and reporting incoming drug smugglers and “coyotes” with loads of aliens. They’re vilified by the traitorous mayors of at least 6 Texas border towns who don’t want the illegal trade across the border disrupted.
They’ve been threatened by drug smugglers and even President Bush called them “vigilantes.” Not only do they have to beware of attacks from the illegal aliens, but also from our Federal Government itself.
These Modern American Heroes deserve more than our praise. They deserve our help.

Saved you from the British? Pah! Bastards! Seriously good luck to them, I suppose they are not allowed to use machine guns? I have no sympathy with illegal migrants who get shot, if they don’t want to get shot there is an easy solution.

Simcox claimed to have raised 1,600,000.00 in 2006. One million for MCDC and $600,000.00 for the fence.
Reported on the 990’s:
MCDC total money raised: $674,322.00 (325,678.00 error?)
Fence total money raised: $87,500.00 (512,500.00 error?)
Total money raised for both: $761,822.00 (838,178.00 total error?)
His numbers must be as inflated as his ego.
