I had to make a drive of about 70 miles today in the falling snow and sleet. It was slow going so I turned on the radio and hit the Search button. The first station that came up was a talk show and they were raving on about Obama! Obama! No reasons given, just Oh wow, Yeah, Obama.

I quickly tired of that and hit the Search button again, and another talk show came up. The interviewer gave his name as John F. Kennedy Jr. — that’s right, he’s dead — and the interviewee gave his name as Dr. Ataturk. “John” asked this muslim type a number of questions about Islam, such as, “Is violence and war an inherent aspect of Islam?” and our “doctor” responded with a long and very scholarly discourse on why Islam was not actually violent at all.

The question was asked about Islamists killing innocent people, not making a distinction between militant combatants and civilians, and again I heard how this really just wasn’t true, that Islam strictly forbids this, and got a history lesson on Mohammad forbidding the killing of innocent people.

Eventually the final question came up, which was “Are Islam and Democracy compatible?” and of course the good “doctor” very professorily explained that the two are completely compatible.

By this time I was totally appalled at the lies and propaganda spewing forth from my radio, right here in America, promoting Islam as being palatable and nothing to fear. And that scares the Hell out of me.
