Anyone Seen Chad?

The polls are open in Florida and the votes are coming in for the various Republican nomination wanna-bes. So has Florida fixed its Hanging Dangling Missing Leaning Flopping Writhing Leaping Creeping Chad problem now, or will Chad suddenly spring out of the shadows again on next Novembers election day, thinking that everyone has forgotten him and he can again dominate our national election?

This nominee voting is the last test of Floridas ballot counting system before the national election, and they’d better get it right this time. Considering what we ended up with in getting stuck with Bush in a vote tally that still smacks of rigging, I can’t help thinking we’d have been better off with Gore. Perhaps it would have been worse but I sure don’t see how, and Liberals aside, I’m willing to bet that many on the right, which is my side of the fence, agree with that. With Gore we’d probably be driving 50 mpg cars now with one central gyro-wheel and running mostly on sunlight, and building feeding stations for whales, but would he also have deliberately left our southern border wide open to facilitate converting the U.S. to a North American Union? Would Gore be out to destroy our sovereignty as a nation? Would he have made things better instead of so much worse?

We’ll never know now. We sure got a bum deal with Bush, thanks to Chad. I hope Ol’ Chad has quit messing with politics for good, because if he springs another nasty little surprise in Florida, I think there should be Hell to pay.

Election fraud has been going on in the U.S. probably since our first election. Certainly there are a huge number of unexplainable anomalies in the 2004 election, according to one report by the Rolling Stone, and if true, mean that John Kerry should have been the president instead of Bush. Not that I would want Kerry in that chair either, but that’s not the point. The point is that we Americans can no longer trust that our votes will be counted or not end up being shredded. Rolling Stone reports on a consulting firm called Sproul & Associates, which was hired by the Republican National Committee to register voters in six battleground states, was discovered shredding Democratic registrations. Nationwide, according to the federal commission charged with implementing election reforms, as many as 1 million ballots were spoiled by faulty voting equipment.

This is not how we’re supposed to do things in America. In truth, our political system is mired in corruption from the grass roots up to the top and most of us are well aware of it. We just don’t want to look at it because we feel there’s nothing we can do about it, and that may well be true. When a political organization grows large enough to control who gets put into office, it’s called a Machine. Chicago has had such a Machine since at least the early 1900’s and the evidence is there for a national Machine.

If our Presidents are going to be pre-ordained by this Machine, then why vote?

Are we already becoming a dictatorship? Have we lost our democracy? It’s a fair question.
