Mercurochrome and Band-Aids
Mercurochrome is for kids. It’s reasonably antiseptic and doesn’t sting the way iodine does. Then you put on a band-aid and there you go, all fixed. Now go back out and play.
“Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is probably right on the law in ruling to prohibit illegal aliens from obtaining state driver’s licenses. A valid license can open the doors to many things in America — voting, jobs, housing, credit and government services among them.”
The article continues “The small tinkerings Michigan and other states are implementing to deal with illegals are like trying to treat a broken bone by applying a Band-Aid” and he’s pretty much correct.
“An estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants flow into the United States annually. The country can’t continue to absorb unchecked numbers of people. But illegal immigration is too big a problem to solve at the state and local levels. … Most voters recognize that it is impractical to round up and deport 12 million people. The country does not have the manpower, money or will to do that. … But doing nothing at the national level won’t make the problem go away.”
Until last week’s ruling, Michigan was among eight states that granted licenses to illegal aliens. Last spring, Alfredo Ramos, an illegal alien, killed two teenage girls in a crash on Virginia Beach Boulevard, which sparked a renewed look at the wisdom of licensing these criminals.
Now the number of states giving drivers licenses to alien invaders is down to seven. Let’s make it zero. No licenses for illegals is still only a band-aid. We desperately need the Federal Government to take strong non-stop action against this huge criminal element in our country. Severe economic pressure must be applied to force the illegals out.
No drivers license means that the alien may well be found out and deported and his vehicle confiscated, and his job lost. More aggressive prosecution of their employers with heavy fines would help a lot. Another effective band-aid would be to require check-cashing agencies to demand some form of state I.D. before cashing checks. This would put a burden on employers hiring illegals to pay cash. Then pass a law adding augmented penalties for doing so to circumvent the law.
“Bills already introduced include denying bail to anyone charged with a crime who can’t prove citizenship, denying public benefits to undocumented individuals, forcing jails to verify citizenship of arrestees, mandatory fingerprinting of anyone caught driving without a license, and seizing vehicles of illegal immigrants stopped for traffic violations.”
The states, one by one, are passing such laws as they can that the Feds can’t over-rule, to put pressure on the illegal alien invaders, and turn mercurochrome and band-aids into splints and liberal applications of iodine.
Instead of waiting for the next president or Congress to do what none of the others have done yet, we the people still can rule at the state level, and by God we will. We can make it sting.

Unfortunately, even if you had federal laws they would have to be used to be effective. In the UK we have stiff laws against employing illegals but they are hardly ever used, although in the most blatant cases it can hardly be the most difficult offence to prove.
I think a major reason is fear of souring relations with the legal migrants and British minorities of the same ethnicity. People never seem to grasp the obvious fact that if you allow major unskilled legal immigration from third world countries it becomes the engine of illegal immigration from the same countries in all sorts of ways.

Yes, as states change their laws, the illegals are moving to the states that are more inviting to them. This morning Huckabee announces he wants to change the constitution doing away with anchor babies. THIS from a man who wanted to give free college tuition to every illegal child in this state? I dont’ buy it.

Politicians Pander on Illegal Immigration and Terrorism…
Mike Huckabee has, in an attempt to pander to anti-illegal immigrant sentiment, promised Minuteman Project founder James Gilchrist that he would force a test case to the Supreme Court to challenge birthright citizenship, and would push Congress to pass…

This is probably going to have to be handled at the state level for sometime to come. I really can’t see the feds doing anything beyond pandering to this group or that and trying to sneak amnesty in when they think we’re not looking.
