Unpopular Opinions
“Washington (EON) - Cindy Sheehan, a well-known anti-war activist, was arrested on Monday at the Capitol for disorderly conduct.
Sheehan was arrested on the charge just after she stated that she would run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the refusal to try and impeach President Bush. The idea of impeachment is something which the anti-war activist has been talking about for quite some time now. The California Democrat though has refused to even try out the process.
Sheehan stated that “The Democrats will not hold this administration accountable, so we have to hold the Democrats accountable. And I for one am going to step up to the plate and run against Nancy Pelosi.”
Sheehan was not alone with the arrest as she was arrested along with 45 other protesters who were with her. She had a 24-year-old son who was killed in Iraq.”
I posted on her some time back, when she announced that she was quitting as an activist, and said that I had nothing but respect for her. This didn’t set well with a few people who are, or were, pro-Bush or Republican.
I still say it. Granted that Sheehan has been used by other interests, but I think it was her becoming aware of this that prompted her to leave the stage. She’s said things that I don’t agree with, as well, and while I may be wrong, my impression is that she isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. My respect for her is for her sincerity. She doesn’t just believe in what she’s doing, she’s out there doing it, non-violently, and damn the consequences. This is the heart and soul of being a free American and it was people just like her who threw all that tea off the Kings ship in Boston harbor, a long time ago, and gave us a jump-start toward becoming the nation we are today.
She’s the only person enjoying any sort of media spotlight who is openly calling for the impeachment of George Bush, Arch-Criminal. She’s right, the Democrats have failed to persue this and the Republicans have a moral obligation to rid us of this viper and yet continue to support him. Both parties have succumbed to corruption.
She is also running against Nancy Pelosi and I hope she wins. I would rather have Bozo the Clown than Nancy, wouldn’t you? Anyone but Nancy.
Sheehan is against the war and against George Bush, two positions that are hard to assail, and she’s sincere. Sincere people are hard to find in politics regardless of what they believe in.

As I’ve said before, I felt sorry for Sheehan at the beginning, and she has been used by the Left. She realizes that now. Wouldn’t it be funny if she did run against Pelosi and she WINS???

We’re all against the war, but with whom do you suggest we negotiate peace terms ?
Islamic terrorists want to enslave or kill us all, being “infidels” and this has been going on since beore 9/11 and before Bush……..do you really think that withdrawing our troops from the middle-east will bring about peace in our time?
Most of us are anti-war, but when war happens, I would much rather it was fought on their territory with soldier and marines than on our streets with cops and fireman.

I suggest we don’t negotiate with anyone. I suggest we take the war to our true enemies instead of the Iraqi people. We don’t need to fight them, left to their own devices they’ll kill themselves off without any outside help. Bush just has us there for the oil anyway.
“Peace in our time”? God, is that ever hackneyed! There has never been peace in the entire history of the human race. Not one day has gone by in at least the past 3000 years when there wasn’t a war on somewhere on the planet.
Do you actually believe that this war in Iraq is preventing terrorist attacks here in the U.S? It’s not stopping a thing. That’s Bush Bullshit straight off his Texas ranch. They’ve already flooded over our wide open, unprotected borders and have formed terrorist cells all over the country. This is recognized fact. When they want to attack, they will and it will have zero to do with Iraq.
