The Americans Are My Favorite Slaves…
Former Saudi King Fahd once referred to Americans as his slaves because our government would jump to do his bidding to keep the oil coming. This attitude of the Saudis is still the same even after Fahds death and now Bush is proving once again that he’s a sucker for the Saudis.
At the top of the news this morning is that the Saudis are considering formal ties to Iraq. “The Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, told the visiting U.S. secretaries of state (Rice) and defense (Cheney) that his country would soon send a diplomatic mission to Baghdad to “explore how we can start an embassy in Iraq.”
In other words, maybe they might possibly create an embassy there, perhaps. The Saudis never commit themselves to anything. Another Saudi news item this morning is that they might, maybe, perhaps attend the Mid-East peace conference to which Israel will be an attendee. The Saudis have NEVER recognized Israel or attended any conference or meeting which included Israelis, so this supposedly would be a biggie for Peace In The East, woo hoooo. Naturally, the Saudis will now milk this for all it’s worth, pushing for all the concessions they can get without making a single actual promise or commitment.
What the Saudis want at this Peace Conference is for the Israelis to give up even more of their tiny sliver of land in return for nothing. Merely another false promise of peace. “You give us land, hey, we will let you live. Good deal, yes?” And since there’s political pressure on Olmert, the Israel PM, as well as Brown and Bush, to reach a genuine peace agreement which would greatly enhance their own public stock, they make concession after concession after concession to the grinning Saudis. What fools!
If the Saudis put up an embassy in Iraq, other Islamic nations will follow. Certainly the Emirates would follow suit as well and these nations are all Sunni sect. -A reminder, the majority Shiites are fighting the minority Sunnis for domination in Iraq and the Saudis are Sunni…
The only reason I can think of for Bush wanting a Saudi embassy in Iraq is that it would play well in the American press as a sign of progress, a sign that Iraq is normalizing. The reality is that it would be a source of more carnage and mayhem as the Saudis bring in hundreds of “diplomats” and “embassy service providers” who are actually bomb and terrorism experts and Wahhabist preachers, and tons of specialized munitions under “diplomatic pouch.”
These are the people the Bush family calls “friend” and this is part of the complex jockeying over the proposed sale of at least $20 billion in arms to the Saudis. That figure is the proposed “floor”. It can actually go much higher. Our MSM spinners have scrupulously avoided telling the American public this, though perhaps I should have said “unscrupulously”.
The Israelis get $30 billion worth in this deal and the quoted figures make it look like they get more than the Saudis, but the reality is that the Saudi deal is open-ended whereas the Israeli deal is not!
We need to stop dealing with the Saudis on their terms and start them dealing with us on our terms, and one good way to do this is to tell them bluntly that they toe the line or we’ll clean out all their U.S. bank accounts, nationalize all their U.S. possessions and blockade their oil.

Impeach him, and let Cheney take over as President??? Think about that Ernesto.
Also today the Sunni block/group removed themselves from the Iraq Parliament. The Shia group sponsored by Sadr pulled out a couple of times, but went back. This thing with the Sunni may be bad if they don’t return after their August holiday. Wish our soldiers had the luxury of taking August off.
