And Here’s Todays Global News Roundup…

The line between lobbying the federal government and running it just got blurrier.

A new high-ranking adviser (White House Counselor, a top post) to President George W. Bush will enter the White House with recent lobbying ties to dozens of companies seeking the federal government’s help on everything from proposed acquisitions to patent disputes. Consumer advocates lamented Bush’s decision to put Gillespie in his inner circle, fearing that the interests of average citizens would be trumped by those of corporate America.

Is any more proof required that Bush is a corporate puppet? I find it interesting that the declining numbers of the Rabid Far Right still insist that Bush “did what he thought was good for the country”. I seriously doubt that there’s one single Republican left in office anywhere in this great land who believes that. Look at our unprotected, wide-open borders and Bush’s Far Left amnesty program.
Bush has done what he was told to do by the corporate leaders he trusts. Patriotism has never been this guys motivation.
Texas Fred had invited me via email to call in on the Freedom Fighter Radio Show that he was guesting on, where he covered many of these issues. Unfortunately I was late in checking my email and missed out but the show is downloadable if you want to hear it. It’s the June 11th show, just scroll down.

Meanwhile, the fighting rages on in Gaza and people continue to die, with few hopeful that the war will stay in Gaza. Once the totally Islamic-extremist Hamas party takes full control, the attacks on Israel will be greater than ever. This stage is rapidly being set and Iran is behind it. See my previous post.

And in Iraq, the Shiites burned down three Sunni mosques in retaliation for the second attack on their Golden mosque. The first attack on the Golden mosque, which pretty much destroyed the mosque, set off the sectarian fighting that most are calling a civil war and which still continues. This new round of mosque fires and bombings will most likely only escalate the current state of sectarian war.

I really don’t think we have any chance any longer of stabilizing these people until they get their hatred of each other out of their systems. We’re not leaving Iraq. That’s a given. So we might as well get out of the way and let the muslims go to it, and then try again after the dust settles. Not that I haven’t already said this repeatedly.

Everyone seems to agree that our military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan are worn down, tired and stretched thin, so it makes sense to me to let them do their own killing of each other for awhile while our people take a break. Then after they’re rested they can re-join the fray and by that time there should be a lot less of them to deal with, with any luck.

Meanwhile, Israel, which is under constant attack anyway, will no doubt be involved in a full-scale proxy war with Iran, so the question is, will we assist Israel by bombing strategic sites in Iran? There’s been an increase lately in our claims of proof of Irans interference and involvement in providing training and weaponry to our enemies, which may be the excuse needed to attack Iran at some point down the road.

As the heat of summer rises, so does the level of conflict.

I think the situation with Hamas this week has taken things to a much higher level. The Israelis are very upset with the US and EU, et al, for saying they would not support or talk with these terrorists … and then they did. I don’t blame them.

  2. Ernesto Ribeiro Says:

Hamas (the party of “Islamic Resistance”) parades several Palestinian
men through the neighborhood before shooting them to death in front of
    their wives and children.

Afterwards, the gunmen kneel in prayer to Allah!
