Create A Bloggers Resistance Flag Contest. LAST DAY, GET CREATIVE
We Bloggers of the Resistance need a flag. Something that tells the world that we’re standing up for Freedom and Democracy and are against Islam and the terrorism it propagates.
— After reviewing comments, I see this needs some clarification. This is a flag contest. Not a banner. A flag that can be flown on a staff. Printed on a tee shirt. Posted as an image on your website.
Just my take, not a rule… it should perhaps be generic as opposed to tied to any particular country, like not having the Spanish or whatever flag as a background or part of the design. I’d also suggest not having a bunch of script in it that won’t show up well in a small version of the design. Any shape or size is fine, however they will all have to fit this page so some may be resized in PhotoShop.
To enter, simply post your design on the ‘Net and leave the URL of it as a Comment. On Thursday, June 14th, all the designs will be posted at the top of this page and will be left there for 3 days, until Midnight, June 17th, Pacific Standard Time for people to vote for their favorite.
The winning flag design will be free to use for all Resistance Bloggers and cannot therefor be copyrighted before or after the contest.
The deadline for posting flag designs is 10 PM PST, Thursday, June 14th.
Layla comments that she likes the Foot In Mo’s Face image in the header, so if anyone wants to use Mo in a graphic, the original, minus the foot, is at moham.jpg. I won’t be entering the contest. It would seem like a conflict of interest.
This is a sticky post and will remain at the top until the posting of the flag designs is completed.

What a great idea. I’ll have to put my thinking cap on. I’ll send you my design soon

Or something like “LIB – Liberals In Blue”?
Nah, this idea I had for the site “Welcome Everybody – We’re Not Sorry” just after Republican victory in 2004…

I love your dreams…
Maybe anything such Blogs4Bauer, or a huge response to the relativists ans multiculturalists on “We can share our cultures…” and show a picture of terrorists shot dead at US borders, and Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean saying as Spartan king Leonidas ““See?, we’d sharing our cultures all day long…”

Here’s my contribution. I’m sure somebody can do much better than me on this. I look forward to seeing everyone’s contributions.

I have a joke for you.
Some would say it is in bad taste.
Do I care?
“A senior BNP member was in a road accident, taken to hospital, and required 7 pints of blood.
As he recovered consciousness in the recovery room, the doctor said, “I’ve got some good news and some bad news for you, which do you want first?”
The BNP member, in a haze said, “Oh, give me the bad news first”
The doctor said “Ok, you’ve had 4 pints of negro blood, and three pints of Paki blood!”
The BNP member cried out in anguish, “Oh, for Gawds sake, what is the good news?”
The doctor replied “your penis has grown 4 inches, and you’re top of the housing list!”

The problem with these focuses is that while we can have common goals with others, we can have very different motives, different final objectives and different views on how the goals should be achieved.
Personally, I reckon Islam is a collossal threat to a free democratic society but I don’t believe that some conservative “Christians” or those who can talk about relativism as if it is a bad thing are much better. We need a more rational society, not substitution of one dogma or absolutist system of belief over another.
Political movements tend to be hijacked by specific interests. Big mistake in my view, we should choose our allies on a temporary basis to deal with the immediate threat. The ideal flag needs to be something fairly specific to that.
I quite like Mr BNP’s question mark flag thing, it expresses the concern a great many feel, not just BNP supporters, , over the continual erosion of any concept of nationality or the idea that citizens should have a right to determine the direction of their own society.
PS Might have a go if I can think of something involving zombies.

I dont know why my post is having trouble going through; Here it is again!
Rasty, it would probably be more correct to describe this competition as a banner or button designing contest, no? In which case a general size should be decided upon, or a choice of two. Banners can be both vertical and horizontal and come in different proportions;
http://www.simplygraphix.com/banners_sizes.html
Secondly, will the banner link somewhere – it probably should as otherwise its a missed opportunity – and if so where? these things can all be thought of after the fact of course.

You need some more contributions to this contest to counter my pitiful contribution. I’m mentioning the contest in my next article, maybe a few more folks will come over and put their thinking caps on.

Im having a devil of a time commenting to your posts yesterday rasta – lets see if today is any better.
First up i just saw this picture over at “the green arrow”
http://isupporttheresistance.blogspot.com/2007/06/mystery-uprising.html
Maybe that could be used or spark off some imaginations. The other thing is that it could be a GIF animation, it doesnt have to be a still.

Ok so that comment worked, lets see if this one does – ive been trying to post it for over a day now. . .

Ok, so it was the URL that was the problem. Ill try a different URL instead;
This URL should show you the different standard sizes websites use. Its probably best to use one of them;

No, this is a FLAG contest. One that can be flown on a pole, printed on a tee shirt, displayed on a website. Like the flag of Great Britain.
Shape and size are open. I will resize the entries to all be about the same size so they will fit on this page.
June 9th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
HA… Debbie Hamilton leads the contest. Your beautiful flag are magnificent ; I think you have win.
BELÃSSIMA.
Your image idea fits perfectly: the God’s hand flashing, firing Devil’s crescent moon; the lightning and the bright colours, everything professional. It’s fantastic! Congratulations, baby.
I love your so wonderful flags, Debbie I’m posting them is MY PRO-AMERICA BLOGS:

A brilliant idea! Debbie’s creations are OMG amazing! All those brains and and artistic talent too. This will be an exicting project to watch develop.
I’ll cross post this if you do not mind.
June 9th, 2007 at 7:41 pm
What a great idea! I am not very good at graphics so I will leave someone more talented to do the job. I will support the flag on my site of course! BTW.. I think the best flag is on your site…the foot stepping on Mohammed’s face…for me that says it all!!!!!
June 9th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Fantastic idea! I’m graphically challenged, so I can’t contribute. But when the flag is ready, I’ll post it at my site!
June 10th, 2007 at 2:40 am
Rastaman, I did use the stars and stripes, so maybe I need to change that since your clarification that it should not be related to one country. Let me think.
Velvet Hammer and Ernesto, thanks for the kind words. But surely someone can come up with something better than my poor attempt. I’m going to try and get some other folks involved.
June 10th, 2007 at 2:50 am
Debbie, your efforts here are much appreciated!! The national flag suggestion is only a suggestion. Who knows, it may prove to be the most popular entry. I like it.
Layla liked my “foot” image, which had never occurred to me. I have no vote here, which is only right, anyway I would feel kind of stupid if I won my own contest. So anyone who wants to create a Mo with foot-in-face flag, be my guest. Voting will be by independent Pollcode.com

I tried to do another one, but it didn’t come out very well. So it’s just for fun. I like Hellpig’s creation. Wonderful. Simple, no nationality, religion, race, language, whatever will mistake the meaning of that one.

Please Check out the New “World Resistance Front” flag courtesy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We need a flag to illustrate our resistance to resurgence of Islamic Imperialism/caliphate and colonization and the totalitarian ideology of the communist/socialist left.

Still a bit puzzled by insistence on a FLAG. Flags tend to be (not sure if mandatory) abstract designs. Have a go but perhaps we need a BANNER as well.
AND a slogan, how about “Life is pure vomit with the Prophet Mahommet” AND a little badge, and a theme tune and
June 11th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
Banners can be animated, flashing, loaded with links and messages. Flags that are flown on a staff have none of that. This is about Flags. A banner is a fine idea but should be a separate competition.
