Then What’s The Problem?

“RUSSIA’S Vladimir Putin yesterday warned that Europe will be turned into a powder keg if the US goes ahead with plans to “stuff” the continent with new weapons such as a proposed missile defence shield.”

This article then went on to brag up Russias sophisticated new ICBM, saying “The new Russian missile, the RS-24, can evade missile defence systems, boasted Sergei Ivanov, the first deputy prime minister. “So in terms of defence and security Russians can look calmly to the country’s future.”

If Russian missiles can evade any anti-missile system and carry 10 warheads each, and we are only putting in anti-missile systems sufficient to stop 10 missiles, which would be useless against Russias vast array of nuclear missiles, then what’s the problem?

Our stated purpose in creating these installations is to stop future Iranian missiles. Essentially they would protect Israel first and us second. The Russians are screaming bloody murder over this and I have to ask why they are so much against us protecting our security unless they want us to get nuked by Iran.

Putin is walking a very crooked path. Most of his oppressive moves have backfired on him and he comes off as a character out of The Godfather. I think this man knows a great deal about consolidating power and virtually nothing about running a country. His incredible lack of diplomacy has made his antipathy toward the United State very clear in spite of any false assurances to the contrary.

He makes me nervous. There’s simply no way of knowing which way that frog will jump next and he’s sitting on a vast nuclear arsenal.

I’ve been worried about Putin for some time now. He’s operating too much like the “old days” in the USSR. Isn’t he supposed to leave office in the near future? I don’t see him leaving quietly. I think I heard he will be visiting the US soon. Why do we make nice with these guys who work against us at every turn?

I still have company this week, so posting may be light.
