A Diamond Iraq Is Forever

“Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says President Bush won’t sign a war spending bill that punishes the Iraqi government for failing to meet benchmarks for progress.”

Man, you just can’t fix stupid.

The purpose of the benchmarks is to get the Iraqis to get up off their recalcitrant, scheming asses and start properly running their country so we can get the Hell out!. If there’s no incentive placed on them to do so, then why in Hell should they?

Does anyone need more proof than this that Bush has no intention of ever leaving Iraq?

There’s nothing like a totally divisive President to unite a divided Congress.

Lets remember that Republicans harassed Pres. Clinton for years for lying about getting a blow job as they had nothing else to pin on him, and even tried to impeach him for it, whereas Bush and his administration have had a constant stream of scandals, many of which are impeachable offenses, and he’s still in office. Our political system is clearly mired in corruption and Bush has taken on far too much power.

Watch this one and remember you read it here first: At some point before George Bush leaves office he is going to express a desire for a third term, and after he leaves he will still be trying to control the Presidency and the war.

I don’t like the term benchmarks, it sounds so wimpy. They need to be told, YOU DO THIS, or else, we are gone. I don’t know about Bush wanting a third term, I think he’s sick of the position and wants out. But what do I know.

The benchmark flap is over putting teeth into them to make the Iraqis comply, and Bush doesn’t want that. So what’s the point of even having them? That’s the idea, tell them DO THIS OR WE LEAVE. Bush says he’d veto that.

As for his wanting a third term, I base that on his seizing of power. He’s set up a virtual monarchy and if he doesn’t want to be king, then why do it? He shows no sign of setting things up for a successor to be able to manage.

And I bring up the Clinton thing to point out the level of power Bush has grabbed. Clinton would never have survived all the crimes that Bush and his people have perpetrated. The outing of Plame, the forged WMD papers, his two-facededness over our borders and on and on. He should be impeached over his failure to protect our borders, alone.
