Secret Shots In The Face
Dick Cheney strikes again. This time he’s been on a hunting trip of a different sort, laying out the expectations and demands of our current administration. Of particular note are his stops in Pakistan, where he shot the Paki Pres. in the face before traveling on to Afghanistan to shoot Pres. Karzai in the face. Directly after his Pakistan visit the Pakistani government lashed out with a series of statements insisting that “Pakistan does not accept dictation from any side or any source”, a clear indication that Cheney made a hit. With double-ought buck.
No outburst from Karzai, but then Karzai would be dead the day we pulled out. It’s good to be needed.
Cheney also made stops in Japan and Australia during his secret non-goodwill hunting trip, and then hit, if you’ll pardon the expression, the Arab monarchy of Oman yesterday and went directly to secret talks with its foreign minister.
Notice that there’s no outcry from Oman, either, but then, we have 4 air bases there. Oman is Sunni. Right now they want us as allies against the Shiites of Iran and Iraq. So it can be pretty safely assumed that Cheney was discussing strategy, since Oman is right across the straits from Iran. With four U.S. Air Force bases. Think on that one.
This whole thing is extremely unusual. The Vice President of the US taking a full-retinue trip all over the world at horrendous cost and swearing the press corps to secrecy. We know that the Pakis were told what they better do about Al Qaeda, and we know that the Japanese and Aussies were thanked for being our allies. Beyond that we know pretty much nothing.
Bush has run a pretty secret presidency all along but this is rediculous unless there were really something grim in the air. I think what’s happening here is that ultimatums are being handed out. “Do this or die fighting” stuff. I think so because this sort of secret big-stick diplomacy is what preceeded World War II.
Definitely, we are in for interesting times ahead. Not that we wouldn’t be better off without them, but there’s no avoiding the fact that we are at war with Islam. We also must do, or die.

Maybe Cheney was explaining that since mush’s accord with the taliban and AQ concernig Wazeristan (sp), the US now regards that area as being effectively outside the jurisdiction of Pakistan, and reserves the right to bomb the terrorist bases and transport routes at will.
Of course, that would be in addition to the ussual niceties
