Phew! I Smell A Bush!
Hey, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for our helping out the Ethiopians and “normal” Somalis take out the Islamists. I’m also highly pleased to read about the 50 Iraqi militants killed in the “saturation” invasion of the militants area of operations.
Where I smell a rat Bush is that the Somalian problem has been ongoing and nothing was done about it by us to help the Ethiopians, nor has there ever been a “saturation attack” such as the one that just happened, until both the Republican and Democratic parties told Bush that they weren’t enthused about any “surge”.
Suddenly we are becoming seriously aggressive. Gee, what a coincidence. Our serious aggressiveness stopped about the same time Bush declared VICTORY on the deck of a carrier and since then we’ve supposedly been all nervous and concerned about the so-called Iraqi government’s reactions to our every move.
The reason we haven’t been hitting harder and faster is the same reason so many of our fine generals have quit in disgust. Bush has been stringing out the war. For profit. Halliburton. That name should say it all by now.
There’s nothing like a few military successes in the midst of all the current gloom to loosen up congressional attitudes and purse strings. Who says Bush can’t be moved? Methinks the new Congress has found the right formula. If they keep it up we might achieve a solid victory or two yet. After over 4 years of this crap, I think it’s about time we did, don’t you?
