It’s Time To Invade Iraq

Following a blockade of Sadr City, “Iraqi forces, backed by the U.S.-led coalition, arrested 13 people in a raid on Sadr City on Oct. 25 in pursuit of a militia leader, and U.S. patrols conducted searches and set up vehicle checkpoints there in search of a soldier missing since Oct. 23.”
Our forces were unable to locate the abducted soldier, and efforts were then stepped up:
At least 30 people were killed and 60 injured in US-led bomb attack in Sadr City yesterday. Al Sadr’s men then complained that “U.S. and Iraqi operations in and around the slum had damaged their security.” So then Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) — “Iraq’s Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki ordered the removal of a blockade by U.S. and Iraqi forces around Sadr City, a Shiite Muslim stronghold in east Baghdad.”

U.S. forces began lifting the blockade before today’s 5 p.m. deadline set by al-Maliki, Agence France-Presse reported. The U.S. military received no prior notice of al-Maliki’s decision, spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Chris Garver told the Associated Press.”

This is because PM al-Maliki is a Shiite and backed by imam Al Sadr and his insurgent army who is no better than the Taliban and is the reason for the continued deaths of our soldiers. The Shiites want to govern Iraq with Sharia law and kill off all the Sunnis and aren’t the least bit interested in Bush’s ideas of democracy. Bush is trying to get al-Maliki to shut down Al Sadr when there’s no chance of him doing so. As long as we were conducting minimal raids that netted nothing, it was allowed, but as soon as we started taking real action, we were stopped.

“Following comments Oct. 24th by U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad that the Iraqi government had agreed to a timetable to curb militias, al-Maliki said his government was sovereign and that “no one may set a timetable for it.’ ”

There is absolutely no chance of winning in Iraq with the current so-called “democracy” in place. Staying until al-Malikis government is solidly in power is a sure-fire recipe for helping create another terrorist Islamic state.

Make no mistake, George Bush has not fought this war to win it. We have half a million troops and many brilliant generals and if we had wanted to win this war, we would have already. Instead, Donald Rumsfelds inept meddling has made sure Cheney’s Halliburton and other corporations have been profiting hugely at the massive expense of our lives and tax money, and they don’t want to stop. Before I stopped hearing about it on the MSM, eight of our generals had abandoned their military careers so they could speak out against the handling of this war. This has never happened before in American history.

We destroyed a stable government in order for our corporations to prosper, to gain control over the oil and have replacements for the military and air bases we lost in Saudi Arabia. Saddams Iraq was not a threat. Now the new Iraq is a great threat and we made it that way. If we leave with an al-Maliki/Shiite dictatorship in place, we will have created a monster that wasn’t there before. It would be far better to accept world condemnation in advance and use tactical nukes to flatten Sadr City and any other known enclave of insurrection and rebellion.

War is hell. We won World War II by giving it hell. If we want to win, that’s what we have to do.
